FAQs About Sunshine Health Stars Plan Ending
Sunshine Health is proud of our service to children and families through our Sunshine Health Stars plan, which provided Florida families with additional options for healthcare coverage for their children. Sunshine Health’s contract with Florida Healthy Kids and the Sunshine Health Stars plan ended on Dec. 31, 2019. Please call Member Services at 1-866-796-0530 with questions regarding claims.
This does not impact any of Sunshine Health’s other products. We will continue to serve our Medicaid, Long Term Care, Child Welfare, Marketplace (Ambetter) and Medicare (Allwell) members as usual.
Here are some Frequently Asked Questions to help guide you through this transition.
FHK recommends that you pick a new plan. If you do not pick a new plan, FHK will pick one for you.
FHK’s open enrollment period is Oct. 28 through Nov. 30. If you do not pick a new plan for your child by Nov. 30, FHK will automatically assign one to you.
Go to the Florida Healthy Kids website and click on “Provider Search” to see which FHK plans have doctors in your area. You can also call FHK at 1-888-540-KIDS (5437), 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday.
The three managed care organizations who will offer FHK coverage beginning Jan. 1, 2020 are:
- Aetna Better Health of Florida (Aetna) and Simply Healthcare Plans, Inc. (Simply) will provide coverage statewide.
- Community Care Plan will provide coverage in eight Southwest and South Florida counties. Contact FHK at 1-888-540-KIDS (5437) to learn more.
