Dental Care
There are two versions of the Children’s Medical Services (CMS) Health Plan. They each come with dental coverage. But the dental plans and benefits are different.
- Members who qualified for CMS Health Plan through Florida Medicaid are enrolled in the Title 19 plan. If you do not pay a monthly premium for your child’s health insurance, then your child is enrolled in this plan. Visit CMS Health Plan-Title 19 (Medicaid) Dental Care for more information.
- Members who qualified for CMS Health Plan through Florida KidCare are enrolled in the Title 21 plan. If you pay a monthly premium for your child’s health insurance, then your child is enrolled in this plan. Visit CMS Health Plan-Title 21 (KidCare) Dental Care for more information.
Dental Health Is Important
Be sure your child sees a dentist twice a year for regular cleanings and checkups.
These visits can help keep their teeth and gums healthy. They can also help prevent oral health problems. If not treated, some oral health problems can cause pain or make it difficult to chew or speak.
Your child can keep their teeth healthy by:
- Brushing and flossing twice a day
- Making sure their teeth are clean before bed
- Avoiding sugary food and drinks
