Sunshine Health Expands 100-Day Medication Supply List
Date: 07/20/26
Sunshine Health has expanded its 100-day medication supply list to further support medication adherence for members managing chronic conditions including asthma, behavioral health conditions, diabetes, hypertension, and sickle cell disease. The updated list now includes fluticasone propionate HFA controller inhalers to help improve asthma medication access and adherence.
This list aligns with the Agency for Health Care Administration’s (AHCA) 100-day medication list and also includes additional eligible medications. Some medications may still require prior authorization based on clinical review or formulation differences.
With a provider prescription, eligible members may receive up to a 100-day supply of selected medications. Extended-day supplies can help reduce refills, minimize pharmacy visits, and support continuity of care. Members using a 100-day supply may only need three refills per year compared with four or more refills required with shorter-day supplies.
Medication nonadherence remains a significant healthcare challenge and is associated with poor health outcomes, preventable complications, and increased hospitalizations.
Providers play an important role in improving adherence and long-term health outcomes. When clinically appropriate, prescribing a 100-day medication supply can help improve medication access and support better disease management for patients with chronic conditions.
