Please join us for our Provider Town Halls

Sunshine Health’s Town Hall training sessions give providers and their staff the chance to learn that latest about the policies and procedures that affect your patients, practice and business.

Each Town Hall session focuses on a specialty area. Attend all the sessions that interest you.

Providers and their staff can attend every session virtually. But you can also join our hybrid in-person/virtual sessions that will be held in the Sunshine Health Community Connections Centers in Jacksonville, Lauderhill, Orlando and Tampa.

Space is limited, so please register in advance by selecting the links below for the sessions that interest you.

If you plan to attend a hybrid in-person/virtual session, please register online and then email your RSVP to eventconfirmations_flpr@sunshinehealth.com.

Each Town Hall covers a variety of topics to address your needs, including:

• The latest provider news, updates and policy changes in your specialty area.
• The most up-to-date guidance on authorizations, billing, claims, and other important areas.
• What Provider Engagement can do for you and how to find your assigned Provider Engagement Account Manager
• Information about our vendors

We’ll answer questions during, and after, each session. We also record the sessions, so you and your staff can view them whenever you wish by visiting the Sunshine Health Training resource page.

Please check the date and time of each session you wish to attend. All sessions start at 11 a.m. Eastern unless listed otherwise and last for about 90 minutes. Check the schedule below and register for the sessions that interest you.

How to Check for Florida Medicaid Eligibility

Consult the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care (SMMC) Program Snapshot: Medicaid Eligibility Verification Systems (MEVS) (PDF) to learn about the following options to verify if a member is eligible for Medicaid:

  • Follow the instructions in the Secure Web Portal User Guide (PDF)

  • Ask the patient to use the Florida Medicaid Member Portal to send a screen capture of their information.
  • Ask the patient to provide a copy of the letter provided by AHCA with their scheduled plan assignment.

Learn about the key components of the Wellcare Model of Care (MOC) and how it supports high-quality, coordinated care for members with complex health needs. This training explains the provider’s role in implementing the MOC, how care is coordinated for members residing in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), and the quality and performance measures used to evaluate program effectiveness. Participants will also gain an understanding of the MOC's five core elements: identifying vulnerable populations, individualized care planning, care coordination, provider network collaboration, and ongoing quality improvement and evaluation.
