Sunshine Health Grant Targets Transportation and Childcare Barriers to Employment

Date: 01/12/26

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Sunshine Health is launching a new grant opportunity for Florida‑based nonprofits to help job seekers gain better access to employment and training opportunities by addressing two major barriers: reliable transportation and affordable childcare. These challenges impact many Floridians to access and sustain workforce pathways.

Non-profits who assist with long-term resolution of transportation and/or childcare challenges can apply for this grant that will award winners with amounts between $8,000 to $20,000.

Grant Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nonprofits must have 501(c)(3) status in Florida.
  • Applications will be accepted from 8 a.m. on January 12, 2026, through 5 p.m. Eastern Friday, January 30, 2026.
  • All questions on the application form must be completed. Incomplete, handwritten, scanned, or inaccurate forms will not be accepted.

Our Community Impact

In 2025, Sunshine Health reinforced its commitment to the community and its partners by investing nearly $360,000 in grants to more than 100 organizations across Florida. The main programs supported through this funding addressed chronic conditions, food insecurity, housing stability, human trafficking, and other critical community needs.
