New EVV Policy: Visits Must Not Exceed 24 Hours Per Day
Date: 07/15/26
Sunshine Health is informing providers about an important Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) enhancement feature that is now in effect:
Sunshine Health has implemented a new billing review edit to ensure that a billed visit doesn’t go over 24 hours for any member on a single calendar day. Any visits over 24 hours a day will be held in billing review in the EVV system (HHAeXchange).
This means that EVV data should be reviewed prior to billing. When total service hours for a member exceed 24 hours in one calendar day, providers must correct and adjust billed hours to align with the actual services that were authorized and ensure daily billed hours do not exceed 24 hours.
To stay EVV-compliant, providers can use HHAeXchange’s Adjust Hours feature to lower the number of billed hours without manually adjusting EVV visit times.
