Sunshine Health to Directly Manage Expressive Therapy Network

Date: 10/24/25

Sunshine Health is committed to providing access to high-quality, clinically appropriate care for our members. Going forward, Sunshine Health is ending its relationship with MTM for expressive therapy management, effective December 31, 2025.

Expressive therapies, including music, art, equine and pet therapy, will remain a covered service for members. Providers who wish to continue offering these services to Sunshine Health members after December 31, 2025, must contract directly with Sunshine Health.

All Medicaid providers must have a Medicaid ID, complete a Level 2 background screening and have the appropriate certification for their field. Members who are seeing an out-of-network provider will have a 60-day continuity of care period after the transition to switch to an in-network provider, provided their current provider meets these requirements.

Sunshine Health is encouraging all current and prospective expressive therapy providers to begin the contracting process to avoid any disruption in care. Sunshine Health will host provider town halls on Thursday, November 20, 2025, and Tuesday, December 9, 2025 to educate providers on the contracting process. Providers can submit a request through the Sunshine Health website, after which a representative will reach out to discuss next steps.

For contracting inquiries, providers are encouraged to contact SunshineContracting@sunshinehealth.com.
