Sunshine Health Opens 2026 “Get to Know Us” Grant Opportunity

Florida nonprofits addressing health-related social needs may apply for $2,000 grants.
Sunshine Health is inviting nonprofit organizations across Florida to apply for its 2026 “Get to Know Us” grant. The initiative supports organizations helping Floridians get and stay healthy through services that address health-related social needs, including food access, housing assistance, transportation barriers, workforce training and other essential resources.
To be eligible, applicants must have active 501(c)(3) status in Florida and must not have received funding from Sunshine Health or Centene Corporation since September 1, 2024.
Sunshine Health will award grants of $2,000 to selected organizations helping community-based nonprofits strengthen programs that support healthier individuals, families and communities. Grant applications will be accepted from September 1, 2026 until September 22, 2026, 5 p.m. Eastern. To be considered, applicants must complete the form in its entirety and submit it by the deadline. Incomplete, handwritten or scanned-in applications will not be accepted.
Please note: Applicants will be required to submit a summary report on the impact of clients served, measurable outcomes and photos from the program or services once funding is depleted. No Protected Health Information (PHI) or Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is exchanged for this grant.

I’ve applied for other grants this year and have not been chosen. Should I apply for this grant?
Yes, we recommend reapplying. We do the smallest grants with the least amount of reporting last in the year so we can be more inclusive of organizations that might not have the resources to meet reporting requirements of the larger grants.
How are grant recipients chosen?
A committee of Sunshine Health leaders and subject matter experts vote on the grant applications. While many of our grants are targeted, for example to existing utility assistance programs, Get to Know Us grants are open to any program serving Health-Related Social Needs and Social Determinants of Health such as food, housing, transportation, workforce training, etc.
How long does the grant process take?
Applicants are typically notified of their status within 30 days after the application process is closed.
If an organization is chosen for a grant, how long does it take to get the funds?
Payment may take up to 90 days once all necessary onboarding paperwork has been submitted.
