Home Health Authorization Extensions

Thank you for your partnership with Sunshine Health and Children’s Medical Services Health Plan. As part of our commitment to deliver the most up-to-date information, we want to share important information about your Home Health authorizations.

Sunshine Health has extended your open and approved Home Health authorizations. The units have also been increased based on the original average units per month. 

This update will be reflected through the Sunshine Health Secure Provider Portal. 

The extension applies to Sunshine Health Medicaid, Serious Mental Illness Specialty Plan (SMI), Child Welfare (CW) and Children’s Medical Service (CMS) Health Plan products.

Action needed: Please check the Secure Provider Portal to verify the new, active dates of service and the units before submitting a Home Health renewal authorization request.  If the authorization extension includes your renewal request, no further action is needed. You may continue to follow the plan of care even if the units are exhausted.
