Behavior Analysis EVV Program Now Live for Fee-for-Service Regions 9, 10 and 11

Effective Dec. 1, 2020, providers in regions 9, 10 and 11 must bill for behavior analysis (BA) services through the Tellus Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) System. Those regions include the counties of Broward, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade and others.

Claims submitted through Florida Medicaid Management Information System (FMMIS) via the Medicaid Provider Web Portal will be denied beginning Dec. 21, 2020. Act now to ensure compliance and avoid potential payment delays.

The Agency for Health Care Administration will be enforcing use of the Tellus EVV Systems as follows:

Effective Dec. 7, 2020, providers must be registered in the Tellus EVV System.

  • All claims submitted directly to FMMIS will suspend until the Agency confirms the provider has registered and begun using the Tellus EVV System. 
  • Once registration and activity are confirmed, claims in FMMIS will be released for payment.
  • Providers do not need to resubmit claims.

Effective Dec. 14, 2020, providers must use the Tellus EVV System to submit claims.

  • All claims submitted directly to FMMIS will suspend until the Agency can document the provider has begun using the Tellus EVV System to submit claims.
  • Once confirmed, claims in FMMIS will be released for payment.
  • Providers do not need to resubmit claims.

This deadline does not apply to providers who are currently billing claims through the Tellus EVV System.

Effective Dec. 21, 2020, claims billed directly to FMMIS will be denied.

Take the Following Actions to Ensure Your Success:

Update Contact Information

  • Verify that all rendering providers have current and unique contact information in FMMIS and providers are linked to the appropriate group(s).
  • To update FMMIS, providers should access the secure portal
  • Providers and their authorized delegates may perform group linking and delinking in real-time (PDF), via the secure Web Portal.
