New Incentives to Help Improve Birth Outcomes

Date: 07/23/19

Sunrise, Florida

NOTE: Please see updated OB Incentives information.

We share a vision and a responsibility to elevate the care of women and children in Florida. We wanted to share with you how Sunshine Health is investing in programs and resources to help turn this vision into reality.

We are offering two new financial incentives to help improve birth outcomes tied to Notice of Pregnancy (NOP) forms and Makena® (hydroxyprogesterone caproate) injections. Both incentives will be paid monthly.

  • $50 for NOP forms submitted within 30 days of the first prenatal visit.
To provide the best care and support for our members, it is critical that we receive an NOP form for every pregnant member immediately after she leaves your office. The sooner we learn our members are expecting, the sooner we can reach out to them with support and services designed to lead to healthy pregnancies and deliveries.
  • $75 for first dose of Makena® when clinically appropriate.
If your Sunshine Health patient is at risk for preterm labor, Makena® might be the right course of therapy. Studies show that compliance with an entire course of therapy can decrease preterm birth by 34%. Makena® can be administered in your office, or through Optum’s Makena Administration Nursing and Care Management Services in your patient’s home.

We also want to share with you the programs and supports we offer to supplement the care you provide to expectant mothers and children. Please share this information with your office staff, and when appropriate, share with your Sunshine Health patients so they can take advantage of these important resources and take an active role in their health, especially during pregnancy.
