Sunshine Health Streamlines Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Credentialing Requirements
Date: 01/17/25
Sunshine Health is streamlining our Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credentialing requirements based on feedback we heard during our recent Town Hall meetings and FABA Meet & Greets.
The new process will minimize administrative burden and improve provider loading times. Here are the updated requirements to become a participating RBT with Sunshine Heath:
- All Registered Behavioral Technicians must be board certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board when submitted for enrollment to Sunshine Health. During our enrollment process, if BACB certification cannot be verified for the RBT, we will be unable to process the request.
- For RBTs contracted with Medicaid products, a valid, active, and enrolled Medicaid ID must be validated against AHCA’s Provider Master List. This requirement does not apply to Marketplace or Medicare products.
- RBTs must have their own NPI number.
Providers can use the Provider Demographic Updates Form to quickly update their practice information and our Practitioner Enrollment Request Form to add new practitioners to your existing contract.
Non-participating providers can continue to see existing members for 120 days post February 1, 2025, as a result of the new SMMC 3.0 program.
To view a checklist of required credentialing documents, download the List of Affiliated Practitioners (LOAP) roster (XLSM).
