Providers Can Now Request Authorizations Before Current Auth Expires

Children’s Medical Services (CMS) Health Plan heard provider feedback regarding care authorizations. New authorizations can now be requested prior to the current authorization’s expiration date.

Providers can request authorizations through the Secure Provider Portal up to a year in advance so that members can continue to receive care without any interruptions.

Providers can determine which services require prior authorization by using the CMS Pre-Auth Tool.
