Staying Mentally Well

Here are tips for recovering and staying well:

  • Get your child the care they need. Find a provider that fits them. 
  • Stick with the treatment, one day at a time.
  • Take part in activities when it feels right for your child.
  • Have a support system that is family, friends or community-based. Stay connected.
  • Make self-care a priority. Self-care includes:
    • Eating well
    • Exercising and moving about – walking is a wonder!
    • Getting enough sleep
    • Drinking enough water
    • Taking time to relax
    • Setting goals
    • Learning to say no when your child feels they are taking on too much
    • Focusing on the positive
